Concept Skis

The twin ski system was design as an experimental concept to re-evaluate the performance aspects of traditional downhill skis. While normal ski rely on a single edge to maintain carving force around a turn, the twin system doubles this edging surface. This allows a user to maintin speed through a turn and avoid loosing energy in a skid.

I fabricated full scale mock ups along with working prototypes of the design.

In a strange turn, this concept actually turned out to be mechanically similar to the bi-skis sit skiing used by handicapped skiers
